Mark E. Clark, CPA, PSC
Owner
Mark brings over 30+ years of accounting experience to his practice, having started his firm in 1997. His areas of expertise include tax, tax consulting, small business consulting and profit planning among other expertise knowledge. He is QuickBooks Certified, and Certified Public Accountant. Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Western Kentucky University.
Along with working with various small business clients in the Somerset, KY, Mark has also taken part in the community and served in various roles within many organizations such as on the boards of the United Way of South Central Kentucky, Habitat for Humanity Pulaski County and Somerset Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce.
When away from the office Mark enjoys spending time with his family, fishing with friends, cooking up new dishes, serving his church, and getting involved in related mission work.
Teresa Florez
Account Manager
Teresa Florez, Accounting Manager, joined Mark E. Clark CPAs, PSC in 2016 as an accounting manager. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
Teresa is no stranger to public accounting having spent 27 years in the industry. She has prepared taxes for various business entities and individuals and has audited financial statements for-profit and non-profit entities. Teresa also has extensive experience with small business clients. She has worked in both public accounting and privately for small businesses. She has performed accounting and payroll services as well as tax preparation and planning for small business clients.
Teresa helps small business clients to make decisions about allocating resources and navigating the ever-changing landscape of financial regulation. Teresa is a native of Pulaski County. She resides in Jamestown with her husband, Andrew, and stepson, Sean. She enjoys reading, the outdoors, and family time.
Shelly Haste
Office Manager
Shelly Haste joined the firm in 2012 and serves as our Office Manager. She also manages our office billing and interacts on a daily basis with all our clients on tax returns, payrolls, accounts payables, and payroll taxes. She is a native of Pulaski County, graduated from Pulaski County High School and attended Somerset Community College.
Shelly is an active member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and works faithfully with Operation Christmas Child Missions and teaching a Wednesday night bible study class.
She resides in Eubank with her husband, Ronnie and her children, Kelsey, Kaden & Caroline. They all share a love for spending weekends on their boat at beautiful Lake Cumberland.
Deanna Gadberry
Staff Accountant
Deanna Gadberry, Staff Accountant, has been with the firm since May 1998. At the time she was hired she worked in administration and has since worked her way up to become an experienced accountant and payroll manager. Deanna earned an associate degree at Minot State University in North Dakota.
Deanna continues to work with the client’s accounts payable and accounts receivable and is certified in the use of QBO (QuickBooks Online). With her 22 years of experience she has formed several working relationships with our clients and is called upon many times for advice and assistance.
When Deanna is not at work, she is spending time her daughter who will be attending EKU, where she will be working towards her nursing degree. Deanna stays active in her church and is long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Deanna loves her community and has spent most of her time in Somerset.
Gladis Martinez
Staff Accountant
Gladis Martinez joined the firm in 2014 and works as a Staff Accountant. She is originally from Mexico but was raised in Kentucky since she was 7 years old. After graduating from Somerset High School, she attended the University of Kentucky. In 2013 she received her bachelor’s degree in accounting and an associate degree in Spanish.
As a bilingual, Gladis works with various small business clients, including clients in the Hispanic community. She assists clients with their accounting and financial statement needs, as well as regulatory reporting. Gladis also assists her clients with staying current and informed. She is also working toward her CPA certification to help her to continue to grow and provide an even wider array of services.
When Gladis is not in the office she enjoys spending time with her husband, Rusbel, and children, Lili and Ivan. Gladis also loves to be with friends and likes to center her life her life around 2 Corinthians 5:7 and Isaiah 40:31.
Brooke Nevels
Staff Accountant
Brooke attended Pulaski County High School and after completing her associate degree from Somerset Community College, she transferred to Morehead State University and in 2015 received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
Brooke always tries to wear a smile on her face and is excited to develop her career in the Accounting field.
Brooke resides in Bronston, KY with her husband Brad and daughter Allie. Her family attends Liberty Baptist Church. Brooke’s favorite bible verse is Psalm 46:10. In their free time, they enjoy spending time with their family and friends, hunting, and cheering on the CATS!
Tara Harden
Office Assistant
Tara has recently relocated to Somerset, KY from Richmond, VA. She brings over 10 years of administrative experience to the firm.
Outside of the office, Tara enjoys riding her side by side with her husband Paul and friends.
She also enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two year granddaughter Maelyn.
